| Five fab products: tech we saw on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy | ||||
![]() Tim Moynihan, Senior associate editor |
My wife wants me to go on Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. If I did, it would just result in nacho cheese stains on my Armani vest, erroneously "tszujed" hair, and me eating a tub of apricot facial scrub as soon as the Fab Five left our home. But once you consider the gear that the Fab Five put in each contestant's house, it doesn't seem so much like a lost cause. For example, the Apple iBook they gave mulleted carpenter Mark from New Jersey would look great in my laptop bag. The T-Mobile Sidekick they gave Queens cop Michael to help him stay organized is an accessory I'd flaunt, too. My home theater would get a nice boost from Polk Audio speakers like the ones they gave Joe from Texas, not to mention the 42-inch Mitsubishi plasma they gave Brian the Jets fan to make football Sundays even sweeter. And I sure wouldn't mind the backlit, 42-inch Philips LCD that the Fab Five watch at the end of every episode. Good news: There's no need to sit through lessons on how to make saffron-chive aioli to catch a glimpse of the Fab Five's favorite home-enhancing gadgets. Read on to find out about these five fab pieces of gear we've spotted on the show. If we've missed anything, let us know at buzz@cnet.com.
