Razr refresh: Motorola's fashion cell phones
By Kent German (November 9, 2005)
Though it's a year old, the popularity of the groundbreaking Motorola Razr V3 has not waned. Now available for Cingular Wireless and T-Mobile, this supersleek, fashion-friendly cell phone ranks as a top-selling mobile of 2005. Sure, it has a few quirks, but the Razr is--and always has been--all about its striking style. It also doesn't hurt that it comes with such cool features as Bluetooth, a speakerphone, world-phone support, and an integrated camera. But don't think the company is satisfied with its success. After introducing the black Razr last spring, Motorola just this week announced three new versions of the trendy handset.

First off are the pink and blue Razrs. With feature sets identical to the existing models', they are little more than the same phone clad in eye-catching hues. Next is the much-anticipated Motorola Razr V3c. The CDMA Razr V3c has been circulating through the cell phone rumor mill for the past few months. Features include a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and an MP3 player. As it comes with support for BREW, Verizon Wireless is the carrier; for release information, see Verizon's Web site. The GSM Razr V3i world phone promises much of the same features as the V3c, but it will include support for Apple iTunes as well. Priced competitively, the V3i could very well sound the death knell to the Motorola Rokr E1--not that it needed one. Lastly is the Motorola Razr V3x, a 3G GSM world phone. And don't forget the Motorola Slvr and Pebl models. Though not part of the immediate Razr family, their radical designs make them distant relatives.
