Music in motion: Sony Ericsson's new handsets

If you thought the Walkman died with the advent of the MP3 player, think again. Sony Ericsson has resurrected the groundbreaking gadget in its new W800i mobile, which combines a media player, a 2-megapixel camera, and of course, a phone into a slim, stylish candy bar-style package. Besides delivering the expected--making calls and sending messages--the W800i boasts 500MB of memory (about 150 music tracks) and 30 hours of promised battery life for music playback. It also includes Disk2Phone software for transferring files from your PC to the handset. Not to be outdone, Sony Ericsson's Bluetooth-equipped K750i sports a 2-megapixel camera that promises such features as autofocus, red-eye reduction, and a 4X zoom. The company's Z800i model comes with support for 3G networks and a sporty flip-phone form factor. And for those that want a handset and only a handset, the basic J300a ditches the camera but comes with a speakerphone and a media player.
