LG's new cell phones spotlight mobile diversity

With multimedia playing a big role at this year's CTIA, LG is not one to miss a trend. Four of the company's new cell phones offer integrated cameras or media players, and one model even supports 3G data networks, which brings goodies such as video streaming and on-demand music. The 1xEV-DO-equipped VX8100 picks up where the VX8000 left off by adding Bluetooth and an expandable memory slot. And as with its predecessor, you also get an MP3 player, a 1.3-megapixel camera (now with a CMOS lens), and multimedia messaging. Other multimedia handsets include the MM-535, which comes with a megapixel camera, video-on-demand content, and an MP3 player, and the A7110, which offers a VGA camera and up to 30 minutes of recording time. Innovative form factors are represented with the F9100, which has a sliding design that hides a QWERTY keyboard. And for those who want a mobile without the fancy bells and whistles, the VX7200 and the VX3300 keep it simple while still offering features such as push-to-talk and a speakerphone.
