Downloading made simple with Web-based music stores

By Jasmine France (September 2, 2004) Reviews
If you already have Windows Media Player (WMP), one of the easiest and most hassle-free ways to start buying music online is through a Web-based music store. Why? Because these services don't require you to download proprietary software to buy or listen to tunes, so you can easily switch among them without worrying about cluttering your hard drive. Better yet, if you have WMP 10.0, you won't even have to open your browser to use some of these stores (currently, MSN Music and Wal-Mart Music Downloads)--you can simply connect through the WMP 10.0 interface.
