Being away from the office is no excuse to miss work. Fortunately, you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to get the right software to connect to your desktop from your hotel room. First you'll need a good antivirus and firewall combination, and for that we recommend ZoneAlarm with Antivirus. Then, quickly remove any spyware on your laptop, courtesy of the always free Spybot Search and Destroy. Now you're ready to connect. Open any Web browser, go to LogMeIn.com, and log in to your office desktop from anywhere in the world. Of course, you won't want to pour over tons of e-mail spam, so we recommend MailFronter Deskktop on your office desktop.
