Accelerated Graphics Port
A dedicated graphics bus slot on PC motherboards that connects graphics memory with main memory. Designed by Intel, AGP operates at a speed much faster than the PCI bus used for other cards, such as modems or network interfaces. AGP's speed has particular benefit for 3D games and other high-end 3D graphics applications.
