anonymous FTP
Anonymous File Transfer Protocol (FTP) enables anyone to download files from a properly configured FTP server. This allows users without accounts to access files by entering the user name "anonymous," along with their e-mail address as a password. Because anyone can access files that have been set up for anonymous FTP, Webmasters must be sure to use it only for files meant for public consumption.
