wavetable synthesis
A method used for reproducing the sounds produced by musical instruments by sampling sounds from actual instruments and storing the samples in a wavetable. If you're buying a sound board or a sound-enabled computer system, make sure it has this type of synthesizer: it produces higher-quality audio than FM synthesis.
