wireless
Telecommunications using electromagnetic waves rather than wires or cable to transmit information. Such communications can be used for free-ranging mobile systems such as cell phones and global positioning systems (GPS), which use satellite technology; or wireless systems can be fixed, such as LANs that provide wireless communications within a limited area (such as an office) or wireless peripherals such as mice and keyboards.
