RAD
rapid application development (1) The generic name for tools and techniques designed to make it easy to quickly assemble the skeleton of an application, especially the user interface. For example, programs of this type, such as Visual Basic and PowerBuilder, provide tools for easily creating and linking dialog boxes. (2) A method of developing a software system incrementally and rolling out working components every few months, rather than waiting until the entire project is complete before implementing it.
