CNET GLOSSARY: Terms for the techie
pincushioning
A type of distortion seen on CRT monitors in which lines bend inwards toward the center of the display. The problem is especially evident at the right and left edges of a displayed image, resulting in a screen that appears to be bowed inward toward the center. Most monitors offer controls to compensate for this effect.
