MHz
megahertz One million cycles of electromagnetic currency alternation per second, commonly used to measure the speed of a microprocessor. For example, a 600MHz microprocessor performs 600 million cycles per second. A microprocessor's MHz rating is a key factor in how powerful the processor is. This measurement is also used to denote the speed of high-speed data paths such as buses within the computer.
