motherboard
The main printed circuit board inside a computer, which contains the computer's basic circuitry and components. It generally houses the microprocessor; memory chips; the BIOS; the controllers that drive peripheral devices such as the hard drive, the keyboard, and the monitor; the bus; and sockets for additional boards.
