CNET GLOSSARY: Terms for the techie
parking assist
If you drive a Mini Cooper, you don't need electronic parking assist to beep with urgency just before that ugly bumper encounter. But if you're operating a giant SUV, a minivan, or a big sedan in tight confines, the beeps are welcome intrusions. Some new systems even display a graphic of the vehicle and a suggested steering direction for the truly parking-impaired, while others add a video cam with a wide-angle rear view.
