The latest HDMI standard. Its main upgrade over previous HDMI version is that it allows Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks to be transmitted in bit stream format, opposed to PCM format. It also adds support for "Deep Color," an expanded color gamut that's rare in consumer sources. For more information, see our Quick Guide to HDMI.
