Open your MP3 player with Ogg Vorbis
![]() James Kim, senior editor | Ogg Vorbis, the popular open-source audio format, can be played back on numerous portable devices. Developed as a license-free lossy audio format, Ogg Vorbis was created in response to the 1998 announcement by Fraunhofer to begin charging licensing fees for the use of its MP3 format. Ogg Vorbis is an efficient and excellent-sounding audio format that continues to be enhanced by a strong developer community, and its users will argue that it sounds much better than MP3. Ogg Vorbis may not be replacing MP3 anytime soon, but the format is supported by a growing number of software applications such as Winamp and JetAudio, digital media devices from the Xbox to D-Link's streaming media player, and of course, MP3 players.

| Review summary | As did the phased-out H120, the H320 will attract those who value features as well as superior audio playback and recording quality over style. | As did the phased-out H120, the H320 will attract those who value features as well as superior audio playback and recording quality over style. | We'd like to see a few improvements to the Samsung YEPP YP-T7, but it should be a top choice for those who want an MP3 player with tons of features. |
