Five new Sonys on the scene

With the exception of the brand-new rangefinder-style Cyber Shot DSC-W1, the models Sony is showing off at this year's show are relatively minor updates to existing cameras. Sony has added PictBridge direct-print support to its entire lineup and knocked the prices even lower on its budget offerings.

 $399.95 May 2004 5-megapixel (effective) Super HAD CCD; f/2.8-to-f/5.2, 38mm-to-114mm (35mm equivalent) 3X zoom lens; Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro media This replacement for the DSC-P10 is smaller and has a higher res. It will come in black, red, and blue. You can also get an optional $179 docking station with an IR remote. Sony claims the P10's burst mode can handle nine shots at 1.6fps.

 $199.95 May 2004 4.1-megapixel (effective) Super HAD CCD; f/2.8, 33mm (35mm equivalent) fixed-focal-length lens; Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro media Sony's budget cam jumps to 4.1 megapixels. However, the P41's attractive price may only marginally offset the lack of a zoom lens.
