T-Mobile may be the youngest kid on the carrier block, but it sells some quality cell phones. Its handsets come from several manufacturers, and they range from basic and functional to featured filled and stylish. And since T-Mobile offers extensive global coverage, many of its devices come with world-roaming capabilities. Here are a few of our T-Mobile favorites. For smart-phone fans, the powerful RIM BlackBerry 8700g successfully combines a handheld with a cell phone, while the youth-friendly Sidekick II (exclusive to the carrier) has a hidden keyboard for quick messaging. For the style-conscious, there's the sexy Motorola Pebl U6 and the ultrathin Samsung SGH-T509. The Nokia 6101 is a solid midrange phone, while the Samsung SGH-X495 is a solid choice for those who just want a cell phone and nothing more. More resources

| Review summary | The RIM BlackBerry 8700g offers T-Mobile consumer and business users a robust, user-friendly messaging device and cell phone with great performance. | T-Mobile's Sidekick II adds a built-in camera to its stellar e-mail, surfing, and IM abilities, but some annoying flaws remain. | Undeniably attractive, the Motorola Pebl offers great performance and an acceptable--if not high-end--range of features. Just make sure you give the controls a test-drive. | Though some performance issues make it far from perfect, the Samsung SGH-T509 is a step above the Motorola Slvr L6. | The Nokia 6101 offers admirable performance in a new form factor despite a dim display and a slippery keypad. | The basic Samsung SGH-X495 boasts an attractive design and useful features, but it suffers from average voice quality. |
