Another No. 1 seed sails through to the next round, as the Treo 600 cruises to victory over the Samsung A530 with a methodical, organized attack. It'll face the upset-minded Siemens SL56 in the Elite 8.

THE FANS SOUND OFF:

• The Treo takes it, hands down. But it's a-tough-to-find competitor at the local Cingular court, making you wonder if it's holding secret practice sessions, putting together a new team, or recruiting a new 6'10" player. It's going to be tough to take down this titan.

• You can't compare apples and oranges. The Treo 600 is a cell phone and a PDA combined, and the Samsung A530 looks like it is only a cell phone. The Treo has much more going for it. I can't wait to get my hands on a Treo, which I'll be doing very shortly.

• Treo 600 all the way! This is definitely a mismatch and an easy round for the Treo. Yeah the Samsung may be small and nimble, but the Treo is a workhorse machine with a slick interface: that five-way nav button. Graffiti, what's that???--George, Kansas City

• I've used both the Samsung and Treo phones, and there is no contest.  The Treo is the best--a great phone-organizer combo. Add enterprise e-mail and it is a marvel! I love the Treo!--Bob, San Francisco 

• This has to be the most awkward comparison of them all. You're going to see if a smart phone is better than a typical flip phone? It's like matching a Harley Davidson with a tricycle.  

• I have had the Treo 600 for about a month, and it is nothing short of awesome. It has caused a serious case of phone envy around the office.  The syncing with Outlook was flawless from the very first try. The Web browser is excellent. The Treo isn't cheap, but you get every penny's worth.--Michael, Clifton Park

• No comparison here--the Treo is more than just a phone. It's also a PDA, a wireless e-mail device, an MP3 player, a video player, a Game Boy, an alarm, a notebook PC, and...you get the idea. :)

• Samsung should get ejected from the game for insufficient features.
