If a minisystem or a boombox is too big and intrusive or someone is just a fan of talk radio, a small, classic tabletop radio may be the best solution. Features vary--some don't even offer stereo speakers, while others include CD players and auxiliary inputs for attaching an iPod, for example--but the small form factor is crucial to fitting into tight spots. Many tabletops sport stylish designs and come in multiple colors, so matching the surrounding decor shouldn't be a problem. -- John P. Falcone, senior editor
