Apple iPod Nano now ships with a case
Posted by: James Kim

Let's face it: though the Apple iPod Nano is an engineering marvel, it scratches very easily. The black version especially looks beat up after only a couple of weeks.

Apple's quick and easy solution? Bundle a soft carrying case with it of course. While the protective case should have been included in the original shipment, including them shows that Apple actually does care... though you won't hear Apple making any official announcements about this. The case is made of the same soft material as the new video iPod, which actually comes in handy (the sleeve protects the delicate body and you can press buttons through the material). I have a feeling that Apple snuck those in there right before shipping the iPods as the company was embroiled in the scratched Nano controversey at the time.

Apple Doesn't Say They Care?

"including them shows that Apple actually does care... though you won't hear Apple making any official announcements about this"

now come on--i'm not an apple user, but even i think that apple is savvy enough to say they care! in fact, i even think they probably do. i just can't figure out how such a caring, brilliant and innovative company has been unable to design a simple case that doesn't scratch easily--something that cell phone companies have been doing for years now!

New "Soft" Case

Hate to break it to you, but my new black 30GB iPod has scratches from putting it in and taking it out of that nice, soft case. I'm kind of surprised myself, but I have been very careful to avoid touching the face of the iPod, and then I noticed marks on the screen. The only thing I can deduce is that these marks are from the case itself. Nice try, Apple.

nice reply

except that it was a totally useless answer to his question, and more just a show of your closeminded poor judgment. the new nano box looks exactly the same. there is no difference in the packaging. so basically, you cant know.
