Over 35 million videos sold on iTunes Music Store
Posted by: James Kim

Eddy Cue, VP of iTunes at Apple, states in this release: "iTunes is the world's most popular online video store with over 35 million videos sold, and we continue to expand the catalog of great television content now with over 150 network and cable programs available."

That's quite a number of downloads of content that you can generally get for free on broadcast/cable TV and elsewhere on the Web. Once Apple straightens things out with the studios (Steve Jobs wants $9.99 downloads), movies will be a huge hit in the iTunes Movie Store. Apple also announced today that it will offer additional programming from MTV Networks, including SpikeTV's Blade: The Series and MTV's Viva La Bam. Videos are now available at the standard $1.99 per episode.
