Yesterday, Garmin introduced a new navigation system for motorcyclists--the Garmin Zumo--and heck, this feature-packed unit can compete with any in-car GPS device. The Zumo features a 3.5-inch touch screen, left-handed controls and waterproof casing and comes with universal mounting hardware. All maps of North America are preloaded on the device, so it's ready to use right of the box; plus, you get a comprehensive points-of-interest database and a trip computer page that gives you information on your speed, heading, and fuel levels. But wait, there's more. It also has an integrated MP3 player and Bluetooth, so you can make hands-free calls via a wireless headset or Bluetooth-enabled helmet. And you can receive real-time traffic info with an optional traffic receiver. The Garmin Zumo is expected to ship in Q4 2006 for a pricey $1,076.91.
