Motorola Q
Moto Q: coming to a Sprint store near you

Sprint Nextel customers, rejoice! Looks like Verizon's exclusive hold on the Motorola Q is coming to an end, and the next stop for the much-hyped, razor-thin smart phone is Sprint. During an investors' meeting yesterday, Sprint Nextel chief operating officer Len Lauer revealed that the carrier has plans to add the Q, as well as the Motorola Slvr, to its lineup by Q4 2006. No word yet on exact release dates or pricing, but we'll keep you posted as we get more details.

Looking Forward to Q Launch on Sprint

I'm a long time Sprint user who has worked his way up from both a cell phone and PDA to the combination unit PPC-6700. While the 6700 is a good phone/pda it's no Q. I don't need touch screen, and all the jazz with normal windows mobile found in the 6700. The Q is a lot better, and the size kicks the 6700's butt which is almost like a brick.

My only question is when will Sprint release it? I mean it's already October...

MOTO Q - NO GO

Don't rejoice for Motorola Q. I have had nothing but problems with this device. It has been returned to Verizon twice due to ongoing problems. I'd go back to Blackberry in a second......

slvr? SLVR!!!!!!

why would sprint decide on getting the razr form factor siblings and not the actual razr -- i hope this is simply a stop gap untill the new razr models are released.

Watch Out for 1/2 a Q- like i930 Restrictions

Nextel/Sprint has blocked Motorola's i930 from installing many Smartphone productivity applications, such as Ilium's eWallet. They may very well do the same on the Q, restricitng use of Q to only those programs that Nextel has approved, but are otherwise compatiable with Windows Mobile 5 and can be used with other cariers. This would allow Nextel/Sprint to charge a premium to customers for approved applications and to charge another fee to vendors for the privlege of not locking thier applications out of the Motorola Q. In this scenario, the purchaser of a Motorola Q would not be getting all the productivity features and benefits that the Q is capable of performing. Caution should be exercised, and in all fairness, Nextel/Sprint should provide a full, complete WARNING if ANY any applications or capabilites of the Q will by locked out of the Sprint/Nextel version of the Q.

If national CDMA carriers are getting it...

Regional carriers will be next.
I am an Alltel customer. A lot of people seem to thing that only by having a national carrier will you get national coverage or great service. I've been really happy with my service from Alltel. The downside is that they are NEVER going to get the "Hot/Sexy" phones first. They don't cripple their phones like Verizon Wireless does, though, which is great!
I figure Alltel will have the Motorola Q in about a year. That gives Motorola time to allow all of the Verizon and Sprint users to conduct their beta tests on the equipment. (just a joke)

sprint has had the best phone forever read on...

the treo was born in sprint and finally sprint allow the treo to be offer by other carrier.. the best motorola phones have always been on the sprint network (who can forget the timeport) all the nextel phones are motorola. all the samsung phones belong to the sprint network. (samsung i500+) old phone and there sitll no small phone alike. the hitechi phones for sprint like the shg lineup. the samsung a500 started all. the sprint ppc 6600 or the ppc 6700 who can top that? almost 100% of all pda phones outthere came from sprint. It is logical the motorola cell phones not available for sprint will eventually come to sprint. verizon and sprint are the best service there is but sprint is on top with service and phones and I have both service in my house and businesss and if you own the pc6700 you will never want anything less. btw the ppc6700 was first offer by sprint and for whatever reason the ppc6700 has more feature and works better on sprint. blah blah

Verizon is HORRIBLE

One of the worst copanies out their. I live in Durham and the phone bill for standard service here is 2x as expensive as in Raleigh which is 20miles away and is regulated by Bell South.

Their wireless service is really expesive too. Prepaid? Forget about it. You get 300 minutes to use in one month for $53. If you only use 10 minutes that month it doesn't matter, you have to pay $53 dollars again next month. Is that prepaid or Ripoff?

The end of Sanyo? Please?

Hopefully this is mark of Sprint's move away from Sanyo's clunky, cheap-styled
phones to the more sophisticated design of Motorola and others. Maybe Sprint
could become something other than the carrier that just services cheap-o
phones and can actually become like Verizon, Cingular, or T-Mobile and head
into the future, a bit. The 90s are over, Sprint!
