Apple settles with Creative for $100 million

Wow. News.com is reporting that Apple will pay MP3-player rival Creative $100 million to settle a legal dispute surrounding a patent Creative owns. The Creative patent basically covers the hierarchical nature of its Zen MP3-player menu interface. Creative sued Apple in May of this year for infringing on the patent with its iPod; Apple followed shortly after with a countersuit. The settlement grants Apple a license to use the interface.
