78rpm vs. 33 1/3rpm
Tom, I am sure right after you stopped recording you realized that 78s
are not the "slow records" but the faster records. 78rpm is faster than
33 1/3rpm which is the more common record.

French BlackBerry ban
OK, after reading
this, the first thought
that popped into my head was that Steve Jobs performed some Apple Jedi
mind trick on the French legislative body to get them to abandon the
BlackBerry just in time for the iPhone debut. Then I figured it was
probably just some silly French paranoia "thing" toward foreign
technology.
I mean, what secrets would we want from their officials we don't already
know? Some secret to help us dominate the Tour de France...oh,
wait...we already "pwn" that!!

Vertical farming
Hey TVMJ,
Here's an
interesting article about skyscraper farms in New York.
It was too sci-fi-ish not to pass along... Now they just need to
integrate cloning into the enterprise, and we'll be all set.

What is a cylon?
So I've been listening to you guys talk about "cylon babies" for awhile
now and I had finally had enough.
First I googled silon (mmm, membranes!), then sylon (no clue) and then
cylon (something from some sci-fi TV show). I could go further and find
out which TV show, assuming that's what you're talking about, but I just
don't have that kind of time!
If you feel like clarifying your reference, I would appreciate it, but
if not, I'll just figure it's another reference I would get if I had
cable. (By the way, just as a demographic marker for you, and because it
was brought up on today's show, I would totally go for a la carte cable
to get the few channels I might actually want to watch. Until it
arrives, I will stay unplugged and un-ripped-off.)
Love the show.
