Invasion of beer's privacy--Shalin
Heineken is going to track their beer using satellite uplinks and other
wireless communication.
Article excerpt:
---
Beer Living Lab is a pilot project that will track 20 beer containers
shipped from the Netherlands to Heineken's U.K. distribution center.
Each container will be outfitted with GSM, GPRS, and global positioning
systems. Satellite uplinks will be provided due to particular technical
problems with RFID, which can be read only when the tag is close to a
RFID reader.
The data will be transmitted to a computer center hosted by IBM; the
WebSphere platform will be used to run the service software.

Wow...well, I guess if you HAVE to know where your beer is this is a way
to do that. What about doing this for airline luggage or prisoners?
Shotgun seasoning--Richard Smith
The shotgun seasoning story was a hoot. I'd give it a try if it weren't
for the whole frozen turkey thing. The seasoning might ricochet back at
me.
Anyhow, I figured I'd offer a tip to others Buzz listeners who might
consider this particular culinary approach. I'm thinkin' they'd be
better off using bird shot and not buck shot. Bird shot cartridges
project a large number of very tiny pellets--hundreds of 'em--at the
future entree. Buckshot, on the other hand, projects a small number of
rather large pellets, each the size a very large ball-bearing. So you
see, buckshot would just blast the flavor right on through, whereas
birdshot would nicely sprinkle the bird with el sabor.
Turkey shot seasoning might not work so well--Quentin
I writing you concerning the flavoring your turkey with a buck shot.
From growing up in a family of hunters there is a small problem with
this, when you are hunting turkey you have to shoot them head to kill
them. Shooting turkey in the body where all the feathers are will not do
much it, because when you shoot a turkey with a buck shot most of the
small pellets will deflected by the feathers. So unless you want to
shoot the turkey after it has been killed and plucked or you could just
flavor the head by shooting it and eat that this new turkey flavoring
system will not work well!
Love the Pod Cast keep up the good work!
Molo means hello, sort of--j.
Just thought I'd let you know... Molo is a Xhosa greeting... pronounced
something like "maw-law."
My name is Jonathan.
