Wii has mass appeal--it's official
Hey TMV--er, MoTom,
The Wii now has official mass appeal. Today, I heard my Mom, my MOM, talk
to her friend over the phone about how cool the Wii is. She talked about
how easy the controls are, and how nice the games look. She says that other
games look "intimidating." She also says the Wii's look "friendly." Now, if
two middle-age women are talking about a game console over the phone, you
know it's gonna sell big. And another note: We've had a Wii in our
house since Christmas, and my mom uses it almost everyday with me (we play
"Wii play" and "Wii sports"). I consider myself a "hardcore" gamer, but the
Wii really does what Nintendo says: it gets people who would normally not
play video games to have some fun. And BTW: If you are looking for a good
Wii game, go for Need For Speed Carbon. It's awesome, and the graphics are
great.

Meeting the Woz
I went to the Rush concert at Shoreline yesterday and met Steve Wozniak at
the Will Call ticket window. He was riding his Segway. I introduced myself
and said it was an honor to meet an icon in the computer industry. He
jokingly asked if I was comparing him to a computer icon on a screen, LOL.
I then asked him if he's still using a regular cell phone for voice and the
iPhone for everything else. He asked me how I knew that and I said I heard
it in a podcast, thinking BOL, but I might have read it in the Fake Steve
Jobs blog, I can't remember. Anyway, he said he likes his Motorola Razr
because he can do voice dialing and can use his Bluetooth headset, and that
the iPhone doesn't. It's funny because most people that I know who have a
RAZR usually complain about it, but Woz spoke highly of it.
The Rush concert was great, by the way.
I love your show. Been listening since 2005. Keep up the good work!

P.S.
Woz goes to all Shoreline concerts for free because he's one of the
founders, but you probably already knew that.
