The Bottom Line: The 2006 Saab 9-5 cruises easily on the freeway, accelerating quickly and smoothly at higher speeds and over steep terrain. A great-sounding stereo system makes long drives even more enjoyable. But city dwellers beware: The car falls short when it comes to stop-and-go driving. By the time the turbocharger kicks in, it's time to stop at the next red light.
