2010 BMW X5 M
  • Editors' rating: 4 stars
      Overall score: 8.1 (4.0 stars)
2010 BMW X5 M Reviewed on 11/05/2009

The Bottom Line: Technically stunning, the 2010 BMW X5 M works as track car and sport driver, but its bad fuel economy will make the daily commute costly. The cabin tech also offers a lot, but a few features fall short of the cutting edge.

2009 BMW X5 xDrive35d
  • Editors' rating: 3 stars
      Overall score: 6.2 (3.0 stars)
2009 BMW X5 xDrive35d Reviewed on 04/07/2009

The Bottom Line: The presence of the old iDrive interface makes it hard to recommend this generation of the BMW X5 xDrive35d, and the diesel engine makes it more suitable for open-road conditions than congested city traffic.

2008 BMW X6 xDrive35i
  • Editors' rating: 3 stars
      Overall score: 6.2 (3.0 stars)
2008 BMW X6 xDrive35i Reviewed on 07/15/2008

The Bottom Line: The design of the 2008 BMW X6 might be polarizing, although we have yet to meet someone who loves it, and it will take that kind of love to fork over the money for one. Although it has excellent cabin electronics and superior handling, it is far from a practical car.

Specs: Coupe, X6, Gas

2007 BMW X3 3.0si
  • Editors' rating: 3 stars
      Overall score: 6.7 (3.0 stars)
  • User rating: 3h stars out of 4 reviews
2007 BMW X3 3.0si Reviewed on 09/05/2007

The Bottom Line: The 2007 BMW X3 3.0si feels dated, and we expect a model upgrade soon. While it drives well, there's nothing particularly special about its cabin tech. We would want something more modern for its high sticker price.

2007 BMW X5
  • Editors' rating: 4 stars
      Overall score: 8.4 (4.0 stars)
  • User rating: 3h stars out of 6 reviews
2007 BMW X5 Reviewed on 04/12/2007

The Bottom Line: Although it's an SUV, the 2007 BMW X5 is for people who appreciate performance. Everything about the car is rock solid, from its cabin tech to its handling, and we would feel as comfortable driving it on windy mountain roads as we would over icy terrain.

Specs: SUV, 4.8i, Gas

2006 BMW X5
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.0 (3.5 stars)
2006 BMW X5 Reviewed on 05/08/2006

The Bottom Line: Under most conditions, the 2006 BMW X5 still drives as well as its more recently designed competitors, but it shows its age in the quality of its interior tech offerings.

Specs: SUV, 4.4i, Gas

2005 BMW X3

      Overall score: 6.0 (3.0 stars)
  • User rating: 3h stars out of 10 reviews
2005 BMW X3 Reviewed on 08/29/2005

The Bottom Line: The BMW X3 is a little short on luxury and doesn't distinguish itself in any other significant way.

Specs: SUV, 3.0i, Gas
