Microsoft SideWinder X8 Mouse
  • Editors' rating: 4 stars
      Overall score: 8.0 (4.0 stars)
Microsoft SideWinder X8 Mouse Reviewed on 06/04/2009

The Bottom Line: Microsoft's SideWinder X8 isn't the only mouse that can swap seamlessly between wired and wireless modes; however, between its BlueTrack sensor and its on-the-fly macro recording capability--not to mention a competitive price--we imagine few PC gamers won't want to get their hands on it.

Specs: External, PC, AA type, USB, 4000 dpi, 4 pin USB Type A, Mouse, Wireless, Optical, Black

Logitech G19
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.3 (3.5 stars)
Logitech G19 Reviewed on 06/01/2009

The Bottom Line: Logitech's $200 G19 Gaming Keyboard boasts a built-in color LCD with exciting capabilities, as well as lots of little improvements over previous models. But with few apps--thus far--that take advantage of the screen in a meaningful way, the G19's potential remains largely untapped. Until the community software effort gets rolling, we can't recommend spending this much on a keyboard that, while flashy, has yet to realize its full potential.

Specs: External, PC, Mac, Hi-Speed USB, 4 pin USB Type A, Keyboard, Wired

Canon Pixma MX860 Reviewed on 05/29/2009

The Bottom Line: The Canon Pixma MX860's auto-document feeder, large LCD screen, and quick print speeds are sure to increase your productivity, but it also includes plenty of software to nourish your creative interests. At $199, this multifunctional printer earns our recommendation.

Specs: Fax, Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 2400 x 4800 dpi

Nyko Wand (Wii)
  • Editors' rating: 3 stars
      Overall score: 6.4 (3.0 stars)
Nyko Wand (Wii) Reviewed on 05/29/2009

The Bottom Line: The absence of products that support Trans-Port and the uncertainty of MotionPlus compatibility may have you waiting until you pull the trigger on a Nyko Wand.

Specs: External, Game console, Game pad, Wireless

Canon Pixma MX330
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.5 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 3h stars out of 6 reviews
Canon Pixma MX330 Reviewed on 05/26/2009

The Bottom Line: The Canon Pixma MX330 doesn't produce the best quality prints, but you won't find a more versatile printer in the sub-$150 category. An auto-document feeder, 1.8-inch LCD screen, and easy-to-use features make it an excellent choice for creative homes on a budget.

HP Photosmart C6380 all-in-one
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.3 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 1h stars out of 20 reviews
HP Photosmart C6380 all-in-one Reviewed on 05/19/2009

The Bottom Line: The HP Photosmart C6380 is a good fit for beginning photographers who want more than just a simple printer. Its six-ink cartridge bay, and scanning and copying capabilities extend its versatility, and while the output quality suffers a few missteps, the C6380 remains a worthwhile deal for the money.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 4800 dpi

Canon Pixma MP980
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.0 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 3 stars out of 14 reviews
Canon Pixma MP980 Reviewed on 05/11/2009

The Bottom Line: The Canon Pixma MP980 multifunction printer, copier, and scanner are a step up from its predecessor, but the print quality isn't up to standard and it doesn't perform as quickly as the competition. The HP Photosmart Premium Fax all-in-one is a less expensive alternative that adds value with a fax machine and faster, higher quality output.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 9600 x 4800 dpi

HP Color LaserJet CP1215
  • Editors' rating: 2h stars
      Overall score: 5.8 (2.5 stars)
  • User rating: 3 stars out of 13 reviews
HP Color LaserJet CP1215 Reviewed on 04/28/2009

The Bottom Line: The Color LaserJet CP1215 is HP's entry-level printer built to serve small workgroups, but it suffers from frustratingly slow print speeds, a missing LCD screen, and other problems. Your $299 will go much further with the Dell 1320c, another color laser with faster print speeds for the same price.

Specs: Workgroup printer - Laser - Color, Legal (8.5 in x 14 in), Wired, 12 pages/min, 8 pages/min, PC, USB
