Brother MFC-3360C
  • Editors' rating: 2h stars
      Overall score: 5.0 (2.5 stars)
  • User rating: 3 stars out of 4 reviews
Brother MFC-3360C Reviewed on 08/31/2009

The Bottom Line: The Brother MFC-3360C does decent quality text and graphics, but anyone printing a large volume of photos won't be happy with the extremely slow output speed. If you're set on buying a multifunction printer, put your $90 toward a more capable device, like the Canon Pixma MX330.

Specs: Fax, Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 600 x 1200 dpi, Corded handset

  • User rating: 3 stars out of 23 reviews
Canon Pixma MX860 Reviewed on 05/29/2009

The Bottom Line: The Canon Pixma MX860's auto-document feeder, large LCD screen, and quick print speeds are sure to increase your productivity, but it also includes plenty of software to nourish your creative interests. At $199, this multifunctional printer earns our recommendation.

HP Photosmart C6380 all-in-one
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.3 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 1h stars out of 20 reviews
HP Photosmart C6380 all-in-one Reviewed on 05/19/2009

The Bottom Line: The HP Photosmart C6380 is a good fit for beginning photographers who want more than just a simple printer. Its six-ink cartridge bay, and scanning and copying capabilities extend its versatility, and while the output quality suffers a few missteps, the C6380 remains a worthwhile deal for the money.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 4800 dpi

HP Officejet J4680
  • Editors' rating: 2h stars
      Overall score: 5.8 (2.5 stars)
  • User rating: 2 stars out of 16 reviews
HP Officejet J4680 Reviewed on 04/21/2009

The Bottom Line: The HP Officejet J4680 offers more features at a cheaper price than most of its competitors, and small offices and home professionals will appreciate its print quality as well. Unfortunately, its negatives far outweigh the positives: your office productivity will take a major hit because of sluggish output speeds and faulty paper handling. For a better rounded all-in-one printer, we recommend picking up the Lexmark x7675 Pro or investing an extra $90 in the HP Officejet J6480.

Specs: Fax, Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 1200 x 2400 dpi

HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.0 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 2 stars out of 35 reviews
HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One Reviewed on 06/04/2008

The Bottom Line: The C8180 multifunctional printer is an excellent choice for photo enthusiasts. It prints high-quality text and photos at a heavy price: the printer is s...l...o...w. If you always choose quality over speed, the c8180 will be a worthwhile addition to your digital toolshed.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 9600 dpi

Epson Stylus Photo R1900
  • Editors' rating: 4 stars
      Overall score: 8.2 (4.0 stars)
  • User rating: 3 stars out of 22 reviews
Epson Stylus Photo R1900 Reviewed on 01/06/2008

The Bottom Line: Epson's Stylus Pro R1900 13-inch-wide photo printer is great for scrapbookers who want to print with pigment ink, or advanced photographers who want to print large, but can't justify the expense of a pro-level printer.

Specs: Photo printer - Ink-jet - Color, Super B (13 in x 19 in), Wired, 1 min/page, 1.5 min/page, PC, Mac, USB, Direct print USB

Canon Pixma MP970

      Overall score: 6.9 (3.0 stars)
  • User rating: 4h stars out of 9 reviews
Canon Pixma MP970 Reviewed on 10/23/2007

The Bottom Line: The Canon Pixma MP970 isn't up to the company's usually high standards. You're better off spending more for last year's version.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 4800 x 4800 dpi

      Overall score: 6.8 (3.0 stars)
  • User rating: 3 stars out of 6 reviews
Epson PictureMate Dash PM260 Reviewed on 10/01/2007

The Bottom Line: The Epson PictureMate Dash printer is impressive in every way except for print quality.

Specs: Compact photo printer - Ink-jet - Color, 4 in x 6 in, Wired, 1.6 pages/min, PC, Mac, USB, Direct print USB

HP OfficeJet Pro K850
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.1 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 2h stars out of 6 reviews
HP OfficeJet Pro K850 Reviewed on 07/17/2007

The Bottom Line: The HP Officejet Pro K850 fits a small and very specific niche: offices that need low volumes of high-quality prints--including wide-format prints. Otherwise, it's too expensive for a general-purpose single-function printer.

Specs: Workgroup printer - Ink-jet - Color, Super B (13 in x 19 in), Wired, 24 pages/min, 21 pages/min, PC, Mac, USB, Parallel
