Kodak ESP 5250
  • Editors' rating: 3 stars
      Overall score: 6.5 (3.0 stars)
  • User rating: 2h stars out of 4 reviews
Kodak ESP 5250 Reviewed on 10/29/2009

The Bottom Line: Kodak's ESP 5250 multifunction printer isn't marred by the errors of its predecessors, but it still needs improvement before it can keep up with the competition. Right now, its pleasing photo quality and satisfactory output speed don't justify the $170 price tag and lack of features.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 1200 dpi

Brother MFC-3360C
  • Editors' rating: 2h stars
      Overall score: 5.0 (2.5 stars)
  • User rating: 3 stars out of 4 reviews
Brother MFC-3360C Reviewed on 08/31/2009

The Bottom Line: The Brother MFC-3360C does decent quality text and graphics, but anyone printing a large volume of photos won't be happy with the extremely slow output speed. If you're set on buying a multifunction printer, put your $90 toward a more capable device, like the Canon Pixma MX330.

Specs: Fax, Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 600 x 1200 dpi, Corded handset

HP Officejet J4680
  • Editors' rating: 2h stars
      Overall score: 5.8 (2.5 stars)
  • User rating: 2 stars out of 16 reviews
HP Officejet J4680 Reviewed on 04/21/2009

The Bottom Line: The HP Officejet J4680 offers more features at a cheaper price than most of its competitors, and small offices and home professionals will appreciate its print quality as well. Unfortunately, its negatives far outweigh the positives: your office productivity will take a major hit because of sluggish output speeds and faulty paper handling. For a better rounded all-in-one printer, we recommend picking up the Lexmark x7675 Pro or investing an extra $90 in the HP Officejet J6480.

Specs: Fax, Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 1200 x 2400 dpi

Kodak ESP 5
  • Editors' rating: 2h stars
      Overall score: 5.8 (2.5 stars)
  • User rating: 1h stars out of 39 reviews
Kodak ESP 5 Reviewed on 08/19/2008

The Bottom Line: The Kodak ESP5 is an attractive full color all-in-one printer, scanner, and copier, and casual photo enthusiasts will be happy with the watered-down editing software, but hard-core users should look elsewhere for a multifunction printer. The ESP5 is too expensive and suffers from too many mechanical deficiencies for us to give it our CNET stamp of approval.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet

Kodak ESP 3
  • Editors' rating: 3 stars
      Overall score: 6.3 (3.0 stars)
  • User rating: 1h stars out of 59 reviews
Kodak ESP 3 Reviewed on 05/08/2008

The Bottom Line: The Kodak ESP 3 comes with great software for editing photos and applying touch-ups to portraits, but printer software is only as good as the physical results, and the print quality isn't nearly up to current industry standards. Your $150 would be much better spent on alternative multifunction printers.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet

Canon Pixma MP210
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.0 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 2h stars out of 17 reviews
Canon Pixma MP210 Reviewed on 09/17/2007

The Bottom Line: If you're looking for the best print and scan quality from a budget all-in-one, the Canon Pixma MP210 is the one for you. Other models, however, offer more substantial feature sets.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 600 x 1200 dpi

Canon Pixma MP470
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.6 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 3h stars out of 17 reviews
Canon Pixma MP470 Reviewed on 07/26/2007

The Bottom Line: The Canon Pixma MP470 offers good print speeds, great text and graphics print quality, and useful features for a low price. This $100 multifunction printer trumps all of its budget competitors with printer quality; we highly recommend it for home users on a budget.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 2400 x 4800 dpi

Photo All-in-One Printer 926
  • Editors' rating: 2h stars
      Overall score: 5.6 (2.5 stars)
  • User rating: 1 stars out of 16 reviews
Photo All-in-One Printer 926 Reviewed on 06/06/2007

The Bottom Line: The Dell Photo 926 is disappointing, even for a $100 multifunction printer. You can get a better printer for the same money.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 1200 x 2400 dpi

HP Photosmart C4280
  • Editors' rating: 2h stars
      Overall score: 5.9 (2.5 stars)
  • User rating: 2 stars out of 30 reviews
HP Photosmart C4280 Reviewed on 05/24/2007

The Bottom Line: HP tries to offer the most basic users an inexpensive all-in-one with the Photosmart C4280 multifunction printer, but we find that for roughly the same price, you can get an all-in-one with more compelling features and better print quality.

Specs: Copier, Printer, Scanner, Ink-jet, 1200 dpi

HP Officejet J5780 All-in-One

      Overall score: 6.7 (3.0 stars)
  • User rating: 2 stars out of 7 reviews
HP Officejet J5780 All-in-One Reviewed on 04/05/2007

The Bottom Line: The low price of the HP Officejet J5780 makes up for some drawbacks, including slow print speeds and lackluster text prints. We recommend spending a little more for the competition from Canon.
