Movies and music will be coming straight to PSP through Sony's Connect service.

As reported on GameSpot, Sony will be relaunching its Connect music download service in March, with a broader variety of media. Sony launched Connect more than a year and a half ago in hopes of competing with Apple's iTunes Music Store. The new Connect service will not only have music but videos, games, and e-books. The videos and music will be transferable directly to the PSP, assuming you have a large enough Memory Stick. Specific prices aren't yet known, but they will probably be similar to the iTunes Music Store's price structure of 99 cents per song and $1.99 per music video or television show.

PSP all it could be

Needed 80 GB HD for $150.00
Keyboard and mouse $30.00
FM/AM tuner $20.00
TV tuner $20.00

Software to direct conect pictures from my Sony camera/video camera to my PSP using my DUO card or USB conection!

And much more.

Sony should rule this environment but it is just draging its feet afraid to loos even more ground to other companies that are taking Sony's lunch.

PSP....

In Sony's defense the PSP is one the best tech toys to come out for a while now. As for the internal memory it does need an upgrade, other than that I love my PSP, now as for my soon to be wife she hates it .... go figure the kid in me likes to play football on it. Keep up the Great work Sony!!!!!

Things that would make the PSP rock!

1) 40 - 60 GB internal hard drive
2) FM Tuner
3) Bluetooth support
4) Keyboard (or a better way of entering text)

Oh, the possibilities….

How cool would it be if for under $10 I could download old school games to me PSP? I, the consumer, would be happy, Sony could make some money (which of course will them happy), and the developers of these games could once again see there handy work being admire by a new generation of gamers, and make some money. This looks like a win – win for everyone. Sony, are you listening?

funny

sony finaly is getting a clue....the psp was trash when it came out. no internal memory, crapy games with pretty big price tags, and there battery life lol didnt realy look good for the psp. not having any real catching titles for the psp wasnt a good thing either.but now sony wanting to compete with apple's itunes store. sony should just give up and stick to cameras.

Hmmm..

If they can make those older ported games titles available, i.e. Tetris, Quake, Doom, etc. circlating on the homebrew front that work on firmware v2.6, that would rock!!

If sony would embrace the homebrew/old titles being ported over they would sell SOOO many more of these PSP's.

Mark my words.. someone will come out with a device that will do these things and sony's going to be left high-n-dry WISHING they had embraced it, rather than trying to prevent it.
