Tom Merritt, Molly Wood, and Veronica Belmont

Today's Buzz
If I had a little more time here at CNET, I'd do a 'Pancakes vs. waffles' Prizefight. But as it stands, I alone had to defend pancakes against Tom and Molly. The only reason we talked about this today is because the comment period for Net neutrality is over. Darn.

TODAY'S E-MAIL:
An odd coincidence
Hello mayors/benevolent dictators of Buzztown,

This evening I was listening to BOL #517 whilst walking through the city and generally staring at the ground. I randomly looked up at the moment Veronica said "Crackle, crackle, crackle!" during the story about the video-sharing site, and what did I see? Parked not two meters in front of me, a 4x4 with the registration plate "KRAKEN1". Freaked. Me. Out.

Well, that's all, really - very sad to hear that Veronica is leaving, but BOL will remain a favorite, and now there's a whole other Veronica thing to watch, too, so perhaps it'll work out well for the rest of us as much as it hopefully will for her.

Thanks for a great podcast; love your work.

Mike

P.S. - Of course I don't remember my home landline number! Why would I need to do that? It's not like I'll ever have to phone it, nobody is home anyway :)

Harry Potter Book 7 leak (no spoilers)
Hey TMV,

I just thought you guys would be interested to learn about the leak of the 7th and final Harry Potter book. I have photographs of every page of the book, and have been reading through them on my computer. I'm 137 pages in, and I'm loving it. I wonder if any legal action will be taken against the uploader(s) of these pictures. That doesn't even begin to ask the question of how this person got their hands on a copy. If J.K. Rowling writes another book about the Harry Potter universe, I'm sure that this person won't get early access. Attached is a picture of the first page of the real text.

Keep up the great work,
Alex B.

P.S.
I'm sad to see you go, but good luck in your future at Mahalo, Veronica.

Molly talkin' Apple smack!
Hey you guys,

I was just wondering if you guys ever get sick and tired of Molly talking smack about anything Apple-related. She is such a hater! And on episode 517 today she called the iPhone a turd! Twice??!

I can feel my face turning red! And you guys didn't even seem to flinch! GRR! I am not a sheep and I love my iPhone!

Stop drinking the hatorade, Molly!

P.S. - I'll miss you on the show, Veronica! Best wishes! :)

Apple TV still not working?
Hello TMV,

I heard on the podcast with Jim Louderback that Tom's Apple TV is still not working. Mine also stops working about every two weeks. The fix I use is to reboot my D-Link router and restart ITunes.

Have you tried a wired connection instead of wireless?
Have you tried a static IP?
Can you get movie trailers and YouTube videos?

When mine goes out, I lose all network access from my Apple TV.

Veronica, congratulations on the new job. Add me to the list of longtime listeners who will miss you. Good luck and much success.

Molly, Glad to have you back. Keep up the great podcasts.
