"uses too much ink" on by jdparkin
Pros: its a multifunction printer at a decent price, doesnt have many flaws
Cons: loud, grabs the paper at an angle, guzzles ink
Summary: if this printer was a vehicle, it would be a damn suv. 30 (or maybe its 40) dollars for the high yeild ink was the selling point for me. unfortunately, i have had this printer a little over a semester (nearly 9 months total though) and I am buying my second color ink cartridge, and my third black. thats too much, i can see replacing the ink once a year, but not every 4 months. i wish cnet reviews did a better job focusing on maintainence cost (INK). if not for the ink, i would have probably given this a 7, but the ink costs make this thing a lot more expensive than it really is.

"nice design; poor performance" on by sarahbear1983
Pros: Nice design, affordable, lcd screen
Cons: grainy photos, does not accept xD or miniSD cards
Summary: We only used this printer for about 15 minutes; however, in that time we discovered a lack of quality and features. The printer does not read xD or miniSD cards unless you purchase a seperate adapter. The 4 x 6 photos we printed on photo paper showed lines and graininess. The menu was unclear as well. The page width aduster on the print tray is very flimsly and has a poor design. Also, the printer does not have networking capability. I can't speak for the printer's other functions, such as text or color graphics. I am going to try the HP Photosmart 2575, it is about $30 more than the Canon, but it has an xD card reader and networking capabilities.
