"Great Alternative to bigger full PDAs" on by Merllin231

Pros: Bright full screen, Easy to navigate menus, big wide keypad

Cons: No phone - phone picture messaging, external antenna seems to be a prop

Summary: I got this phone about a month ago. I am a Civil engineer and need to stay in contact with work but when I am out on a job site, I need the phone to be more compact then a conventional PDA (ie: Blackberry, HTC) I have
never owned a Blackberry or HTC, so I have no idea how the features and options and stuff are, I just did not purchase one due to the size.

As for the PN-8200 (here in canada), it seems to be the perfect alternative for me. Compact size, and a very big bright screen. The menus are fairly easy to navigate and BACK feature works brilliantly. Multiple times I have been texting or checking something and hit the end key, or a wrong button and the back key will bring you right back to where you were before. Also, the phone is nice in a way that you can be working or doing something, and something comes up, you can close the phone, and at a later time, re open it and whatever you were working on is still displayed on the screen.

As for the cons, unlike a conventional cell, with the 8200, I have noticed that you can not send or receive picture messages. They are sent to your email instead. This was a little disappointing, having the camera and all but I did not find it to be a deal breaker, for me at least. Also, the external antenna seems to be small problem. Not for the fact that it is there, but because it seems to be useless.

As for an all around review, I think the phone would be perfect for someone who is looking to check there business emails, stay in touch with the office and just have a casual smart phone. I think if you are a pure business type, you would wanna go with something a little more functional.

"Light, compact, Smartphone." on by book-er

Pros: GOOD replacement for Cingular 3125

    Cons: None as of yet.

Summary: I had a Cingular 3125. Cracked LCD display & Cingular WILL NOT offer insurance on SMARTPHONES. I had been with Cingular for 10+ years and they offer me a full replacement SMARTPHONE for $250 [refurb] - $600 for new phone. Switched to Verizon, purchased this SP for $19.99 w/rebate PLUS INSURANCE for this phone.

SEE YA LATER CINGULAR and THANKS FOR THE BAD MEMORIES!

"Best Verizon Smartphone on market for price." on by pjtkr

Pros: Flip phone and easy to use.

Cons: Wi-Fi and cannot change outer screen.

Summary: I had a Treo 700w smartphone and I like the PN 820 a lot better. Especially it being a flip phone. It is much easier to carry and work with and has everything I need in a smartphone with only a few drawbacks.

    "Great Smartphone" on by chipmmm

Pros: Small..easy to navigate...well thought out

Cons: typing is not easy as no keys or stylus

Summary: I have had this phone for 4 weeks now and it is the best smartphone I have had. I have had 3 previous smartphones and this one takes the cake with its small form factor and well thought out controls. Unless you need to do alot of typing this is the one for you if you want small with the ability to pickup your email and stay in touch.

"Very complicated to program and use" on by dynamom2006

Pros: many features to keep up with internet but found it very difficult to learn and program.

Cons: Very low volume on speaker, poor quality camera, difficult to operate, complicated to learn and program. Battery life is very poor.

Summary: If you are considering this phone DON'T. It is considered a smart phone but the user must be genius. Long hesitation in camera, must use sync program for music, small window for internet operations, and battery life is very poor
