"Anything darker than grey turns into solid black mass" on by sergei1001
Pros: exterior design
Cons: read the summary
Summary: This is really as much of a question as a review: is there anything that can be done about the grayscale? Anything dark turns into solid black; "half-lit scenes" are essentially solid black shapes moving around the screen; there is no gradation, no definition whatsoever in dark areas; when light comes on, features show up, just to dip into the black abyss as soon as light source shifts. Am I the only one who has this problem? I played with contrast and brightness and modes and whatnots - to no avail... If you watch a lot of artsy, subtly lit movies, this unit is unusable.

"Nice looking tv" on by joeryb
Pros: Good picture and sound.
Cons: Samsung support is very, very, very poor.
Summary: I got this tv as exchange from Best Buy. I had another Samsuung Tv(speakers on side of cabinet on that one.)I returned it because of vibrating cabinet noise in the audio. I made the mistake of thinking Samsung would be helpfull. Dont you make the same mistake. They have the worst support I have ever experienced before. This model appears to be ok, I hope because I wouldnt want to deal with support again. Read other reviews on this point and beware!!!

"Great for movies and TV, atrocious for gaming" on by ijroling
Pros: Sleek design, excellent picture, good price for the size
Cons: Horrible picture and lag when playing video games
Summary: I picked up a 4051D about a month ago after reading some reviews and checking out the unit in person. I got it home, set everything up, and it looked great. This TV just looks gorgeous. The problem came though, when I hooked up my Gamecube and PS2. Watch out, gamers, this TV is not for you. The picture was blurry and bled a lot, even with component cables hooked up. What's worse though was the lag. When I played a racing game, I felt like I had been drinking and my reflexes were shot. Apparently the time it takes to rescale the image to this set's native resolution and process it through the DNIe filter is so long that it is visibly noticeable when gaming. Luckily I was able to return the set and I have a different one coming next week, but people who have had the set for a while and hook up a game system after some time won't be so fortunate.

I forgot to mention that the TV has a game mode which is supposed to help the issues I found, but from what I could tell, all it did was increase the contrast and brightness. If you call Samsung support this is what they will tell you to do.
