"DON'T Buy it" on by bugmenot2
Pros: Nice feel and look
Cons: Sucks on file d/l
Summary: I have had problems with Sony products before, like not lasting the warranty period, bad quality, not working correctly.
This will be the last sony of anything I will ever purchase.
The NW-E507 has to use sonys program to d/l anything onto the player. You can't just drag and drop like most other mp3 players you use MP3 File Manager in order to copy files onto the player. Or you can use sonicstages. Another program that is still in alpha testing. It did not copy the files in the root folder but into a folder it creates. Explains why the clio didn't take off. They still can't get it right.
I guess it is time to take it back to BestBuy and buy an IRiver. Something that works the way a Normal Person would expect.
PROS: Humm, Feels and looks nice. Has a fast battery charge.
CONS: Has to use proprietary software to make it work. It didn't install from my computer, I had to go find another to get the software to install. Does not play large MP3 Files, Does not give you the option for the order of files to be played. Since it seemed to put everything into one folder it decides to play them in alphabetical order. Takes a long time to d/l mp3's Imagine listening to an audio book that way???
Am I bitter, yea, I should have know better than to buy another product from sony.Updated
Ok,
The display is horrible, you can't see it in a light place, needs to be in a dark or well shaded evrioment.
I spent time filling the player with mp3's this morning. Not one of them played. It says "CANNOT PLAY." There were over 60 songs, all rip at 160 bit-rate or above.
The manual says it will play any mp3 from 64 to 320 bit-rate.
Another bad thing about this player!!
Sorry, havn't had time to go and get the IRiver yet. -
