"Good, but not good enough" on by psanger
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Very slow auto-focus; weak supporting software
Summary: Bought to make sales DVDs of our horses and for our ranch website. Autofocus is too slow to keep up w/ a horse trotting across an arena. JVC software would only let us hear video, not see it for editing. Had to view in MS-Media Player and couldn't edit from there (on a brand new 3.0 ghz computer w/ 4 gigs of RAM and 512 mg ram video card). We're returning camcorder and will try Canon HV20, HG10, or Sony HDR-HC7.

"TERRIBLE PRODUCT TERRIBLE SERVICE" on by prowritemedia
Pros: NO PROS THIS PRODUCT IS TERRIBLE
Cons: video quality, photo quality, service is awful
Summary: After the first transfer to my computer from the camcorder, the video quality was terrible on all the videos I had shot. The motion stopped/started and the audio was out of sync - almost like watching a movie in slow motion. I immediately contacted Circuit City, but they did not reply for several days, and then it was past the 14 day return policy. Contacted JVC - who is now giving me every excuse in the book - it's the computer, it's the hard drive, etc. and then telling me to ship it to a service center at my own expense. Mind you, this unacceptable video quality began with the very first use of the camcorder. I tried reformatting the hard drive, downloading the video to a different computer, but no luck. After 2 week's worth of pointless correspondence from JVC - still no resolution. What a shame, since I had such high expectations for this product. JVC - terrible, terrible quality and service. Don't waste your money.
