"Fatal defect"
Pros: Excellent Specs - best value at $1300
Cons: Fatal boot-up problems
Summary: Bought this laptop from BestBuy after lot of research. I wanted a laptop with 1GB of RAM, less than 6.0 lbs, 15" bright screen and a DVD-RW drive. Sure enough, this one was the best value.
For the first 10 days Laptop worked fine, but it was when I left it aside to check out the 'Hibernate' feature that the problem started. The Blue error screen showed up as the computer started to come out of hibernation, tried re-booting now the screen shows garbage. The boot process itself gets stalled at the very first step - POST check where screen displays 'TOSHIBA'
Anyways, I promptly returned the laptop at BestBuy (after the expected long rounds of wrangling with their "customer associates")
Maybe I was just unlucky to get a really bad unit. My advice to everyone who is planning on purchasing this:
a) Test out all features of this laptop within the Return period
b) Share your experience (especially if you face similar problems) with the Net community
