"The incompleteness of Complete Care"
Pros: Price isn't bad
Cons: Complete care
Summary: If you buy a Dell and you think you're getting a great deal because you're getting complete care think again. Complete, although meaning having all necessary parts, elements, or steps, does not mean this to Dell. I called to try and get a new battery for my laptop because its at about half its normal battery life lately, only to find out that its been two years and the warranty on the battery is only for one. When I yelled at them telling them that I had complete care and that complete should mean all, they told me that complete care does not cover batteries. If you look it up on their website to find out what complete care does cover you find out that it only covers the CPU, the internal keyboard, the internal hard drive, and the built in LCD. This means you also can't include things like your memory, or your AC adapter.
So why can they say complete care if it doesn't completely cover the unit you bought? I'm not sure. It's all in writing though but in order to find it you have to follow several screens of text to the full contract. The people over the phone will tell you that complete care covers your battery but they lie. I think it's false advertising to call it complete care. They should just call it an accident clause and be done with it, because then people would read the fine print to find out that it really doesn't cover much of anything.
Complete care is complete bull.

one thing...completecare covers accidental damage, not normal wear and tear. Obviously, using a battery for more than two years is expected that the battery life will be down by half. It also does cover AC adaptors and memory. I've had these replaced under completecare. The only thing not covered is the battery since it counts as normal wear and tear.
