"This is a GREAT laptop at such a great price."
Pros: Fast, clear screen, memory and upgrades very inexpensive
Cons: Lacks a PCMCIA port and firewire port, speaker is horrible, touchpad mouse locks
Summary: I purchased this machine after my Acer monitor died. The system seemed nice and was very inexpensive at under $500. It came with Windows Vista which I used for about a week. The operating system ran great except for wireless. It would constantly drop internet after 30 minutes. A restart would correct it, but was becoming tiresome so I decided to try Windows XP Media center on it and the wireless does not drop at all. The system has not crashed once since I purchased it. It will sometimes lock up on the touchpad mouse. I fixed that as I prefer a real mouse anyway and hate touchpads. I use this for browsing, video, pictures, school work I even put my digital tape recorder lectures on it for use later. This laptop does everything I throw at it and more. It even plays games I never expected to play on it.
It would have been better if they had given the laptop an extra speaker because the one speaker is horrible. Also, a pcmcia slot would have been nice to add my firewire card, but I did work around it.
For the money I think this laptop is a GREAT buy. Much better than my old Acer, but it really only runs perfect with Windows XP.
