"Very nice, VAST improvement over tx1000"
Pros: True active digitizer, is a real tablet pc for reasonable price.
Cons: Windows Vista is a pain in the rear end.
Summary: I had a tx1000, and the passive digitizer was terrible. It made it impossible to use to take notes or draw on the screen. I sold it to get the tx2000, and it is just a huge, huge improvement. (The display is better also.) I was able to use it the day after I got it to annotate downloaded lecture handouts while in class, which the older model was not responsive enough to do.
I did have to disable the Windows Indexing program in Vista to keep the processor from pegging at 50% with nothing running, but that is not the fault of the computer...it's a Microsoft stupidity.
The first one of these that I ordered had a bad motherboard, but HP took it back and built me a new one, and this one is fine, so I do not have complaints about their service.
There are no other active digitizer notebooks on the market for the price of this one, and I think it is a really good combination of features and price.

Re: Disabling Windows Indexing. Could you post exact instructions. This would be great for you to share with others. I am running 4 gb of Ram on my machine and it is still running at 37% when idle! This machine runs hot. I found a laptop cooling pad (2 fans) that is the exact same size as my notebook. I have velcro-ed it to the bottom of my notebook and it has made a real difference. The downside is that the battery doesn't last as long as the cooling pad plugs into the laptop via a USB port and uses the laptop power. I am mostly on AC anyway so it doesn't matter to me.
Thanks
