"Stay away for home office use" on by kathyll
Pros: smaller than previous models
Cons: Slow B/W copying, no percent adjustment, poor copy quality adjustment
Summary: By the way, this printer is a 4-ink printer, not 6-color as stated above.
I am a previous owner of the Epson CX3200 which I loved. It was a good printer for a home office. It printed good quality color prints. Speed varied per quality level, which you could choose. It made fast B/W prints, and fast B/W copies. You could enlarge and reduce in 1 percent increments. And you could adjust the copy quality by increments like a regular copier. It did decent scans, and the software was easy to use. Unfortunately, it died, and parts were no longer available.
So I bought the 7800, expecting the same features, and more. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed. Disappointed enough to write a review to hopefully spare someone else the same disappointment. Some of my most useful features have been removed. Copy quality SUCKS (gray not black) and copies are slow. The ink jets seem to clog more often. It is not as elegant and attractive as other Epson printers. They have slowed down the speed of B/W printing and copying in order to speed up color printing. But the color printing is not that noticably faster if you are printing for quality. The B/W slower speed is frustratingly noticable.
I hope that they come out with an all-in-one good for home-office use again. Listen-up Epson!
