"Good Pictue / Good Value"
Pros: Great High Defiinition Picture
Cons: Humming sound .Poor customer and tech support
Summary: Overall I'm satisfied with this lcd. Great picture, but when the sound level is turned down low there is a humming sound present. I e-mailed tech support intially and they replied promptly and asked if it happened when I played dvd's also. Well it did and then I had to call them. "Irena" told me to change the backlight setting to bright and that would fix the problem. I told her that I didn't want to view my lcd on the brightest setting just to eliminate the humming sound. She then wanted to send me a refurbished lcd. I stated that I didn't want someone else's lcd, that I wanted mine repaired. They boast of a on site warranty. Well after one month of phone calls and a threat to contact Vincent Sollito (CEO) of Syntax Brillion I recieved the parts to fix the problem. Now I'm waiting on a call from a service tech to set up an appointment. I hope that others have had better luck than I. Olevia could be a front runner in affordable lcd's if customer service improved.Updated
Well the technician showed up to repair my lcd, it couldn't be fixed (as I suspected) I sent the lcd back through Syntax's replacement program. Received the new unit now not only does the unit hum but has a squeal to it along with a huge shadow in half of the screen. I have no idea how to fix the shadow but it bleeds through on all settings. Now here it is Feb 8th and I'm anxiously waiting on UPS with my new replacement , the Olevia 227. I update this posting as soon as I hook it up...Updated
Syntax did deliver another replacement the Olevia 227 and every thing is great. The picture quality is a 9 out of 10. I am happy overall with my purchase.
