    "An MP3 phone done right"

by wyzzerdd on March 14, 2008

Pros: Its stylish, sturdy, battery life is amazing, plays MP3's, has 3g where you can watch all kinds of videos from a huge list of networks, and can be used as a GPS.

Cons: The MP3 buttons on the front are often pushed by accident when I have it in my pocket, only the specially made LG case works otherwise it pushes the MP3 buttons down activating the music player.

Summary: Compared to the other MP3 phones that look ridiculous and cheap, the LG VX8350 got it right. I can watch videos through the 3G which gives me access to a ton of online content. With a 1 gig memory card I can store plenty of music to keep me entertained. The built in GPS is very cool, not only can I use it as a improvised navigator for the car but you can also use it to keep track of where your kid is at by logging on to their website with real time tracking which can save lives.
The looks of the phone are just right, modern but not to flashy. its also built solid, Ive dropped my fair share of cell phones and what usually happens is the battery comes flying out and maybe even cracks the cheap plastic. This phone however took a beating and didn't even leave a scuff mark. Voice quality is top notch and combine that with the voice privacy feature and its fantastic. I was walking around Walmart near the stereos blaring music, my mom said she could hear me perfectly and couldn't even hear the background noise.
Battery life on this phone is crazy, I spent 5 hours at the hospital visiting someone, unfortunately bored to tears so I fired up VCAST Videos. I sat and watched youtube and other various videos for 5 hours straight! The crazy thing is I still had 2 bars left on my battery. I charge my phone once a week, and have yet to run out of juice.
Ok now the only thing I dont like about the phone and I know its petty but still legit is the buttons on the front of the phone. You can only use the specially made case for it, otherwise any other case pushes the buttons in turning on the music player. One thing I would have liked to have included is a headphone adapter since most headsets for phones are made for voice, they sound like crap when listening to music. I have several nice pairs of headphones but I cant use them because the phone uses the smaller size.
