"Feels cheap, but good phone!"
Pros: Screen, tactile feedback, reception
Cons: Feels cheap, contact list, qwerty keyboard
Summary: The past phones I have had have been the black Motorola Q, Palm 700p, iPhone, ATT Tilt, and now the LG Vu
I'll start with the pros.
The screen is very bright and clear. When you hit the screen it vibrates for feedback purposes. Texting is cool because you can either pick between texting like a normal phone, or put it into landscape mode for easier QWERTY keyboard texting.
Although this is a great phone overall, there are some things that really bother me. If a phone is going to carry a price tag of $400, then it should come with a material that resembles the iphone, more of a glass like screen rather than plastic. It holds smudges extremely well, and I couldn't see my screen in the sun...thats frustrating (hoping they will come out with an anti-reflective screen like they did with the iphone). Texting is much slower on this phone that the iphone, esepcially when the iphone filled in words for you (the lg vu does it a little bit, but not as precise as the iphone). Scrolling through contacts is a bit rough, definitely a learning curve there.
I will have to admit, the reception on this phone is MUCH better than the iphone. Call quality is nice and clear.
Haven't had any chance to try out ATT mobile TV, or any of the media package for that matter. This phone does not support Gmail...which is incredibly disappointing
. It's all I use!!!
Overall, I would give this phone a 7/10. LG will I am sure come out with a newer version of this phone that fixes a lot of the problems that the iPhone really masters. I'm sorry I am comparing this phone to the iPhone so much, but its the closest thing the industry has really seen to the design of the iPhone!
