"Great sounding receiver!"
Pros: Sound quality, ease of set up, plenty of power for my stereo system, large display, numerous connection options, and nice looks
Cons: The remote is not great, only switches HDMI inputs
Summary: Great sounding receiver! The receiver has plenty of power, and it does not distort at high volume levels. It easily powers my Infinity Beta speakers (7.1 channels). I use the big Beta 50's up front, and they pound at high volume. The thing is easy to set up. The EZ set EQ does a good job of configuring the speakers to my listening environment so the surround sound is fantastic. Plenty of connections for a lot of hi-fi gear. Speaker connections are color coded for easier connections. Unit software can be upgraded as new audio formats come out so this receiver should last a long time. The large front display is easy to read and can be turned off during movies. Also, HK has the best multiroom set up options of the competition. The two rear amplifiers can be used to power another room. Or cables can be run to acomplish the task. Either way, the receiver can allow users in two rooms to be able to listen to two different input sources. I believe the best surround mode is the Logic 7 because of its fades. It makes things sound as if you are there. I believe it is only on HK products. Its sound quality blows the away the boring Hall, Theater, or Live setting on all other receivers. The remote could be improved. All in all, it is a great product. I highly recommend one.
